Livestock Skillathon

 
Frederick County Livestock Skillathon is an eight week program held in January and February annually. Youth learn information regarding the Beef, Sheep, Swine and Goat projects.
 
4-H'ers learn to identify various breeds of livestock, meat and grains identificaton, proper use and types of equipment in addition to quality of wool and animal health practices to name a few.
 
Practices are open to any youth between the ages of 8 - 18. A statewide competition is held in March .
