Mardi Gras Ball with Frederick Woman's Civic Club, Inc.

Frederick County 4-H strongly urges young ladies in our program to participate in the Mardi Gras Ball, which has provided financial support to non-profits and scholarship programs decades.  The Mardi Gras Princess Interest Form is attached below.  If you have any questions, please contact Fran Wiles of The Frederick Woman's Civic Club, Inc at 301-874-5666 or fhwiles@aol.com.

For the past fifty years, the Woman's Club has held a Mardi Gras Ball as their main fundraiser.  The proceeds go in various directions, part of which is a scholarship to each of the Frederick County high schools.

One of the features of the Mardi Gras is the presentation of the Kings, Queen and Princesses.  We are looking for girls who would be willing to get dressed up and dance the night away.  There are some dress requirements ( formal white gown, etc.) and some time requirements, none of which are burdensome.

We have added an additional $500 scholarship to be given to the girl who is selected as Queen.  The Queen is selected by a random draw from a basket of wrapped charms.  (Grades, honors, etc. have no participation in this.)
